Dog Days of Summer

Well Hello Everyone! Welcome to the Dog Days of Summer.  Yes, it is a hot one! We all know what it is like when everyone refers this time of year as the Dog Days of Summer, but do you know what the real meaning is? The real meaning refers to the dog star, Sirius, and its position in the sky. The Dog Star is the star on the nose of the Canis Major constellation. When this star appeared to rise just before the sun in late July, the Greeks and Romans referred to these days as the hottest time of the year. They often thought it could bring fever or catastrophe. But as time went on it lost its true meaning and we all associated it with the hottest time of the year.

Speaking of the hottest time of the year, ASID Ohio North is turning up the heat! Check it out

Sincerely,

Industry Partner Spotlight

Sherwin Williams,
Industry Partner ASID

Unveiled today, colormix 2017: The Sherwin-Williams Color Forecast projects a sense of restlessness that will translate to color in new ways next year. With the backdrop of an ever-changing societal and cultural landscape, the four color palettes that make up the year's forecast share a vision of renewed spirituality, body and soul nourishment and a determination to define a sense of self.

"Our forecast this year is an exploration of the trends and influences that are emerging to drive design towards a state of restless energy," said Sue Wadden, director of color marketing for Sherwin-Williams. "Each of our four palettes tell a distinct color story, offering opportunities for homeowners and professionals alike to explore color in new and exciting ways."

The Sherwin-Williams team of design and color experts, led by Wadden, developed the 2017 forecast based on extensive research and insights into global trends. The team's four palettes, named Noir, Holistic, Intrepid and Unbounded, each consist of 10 colors.

Sessions:  4:00 pm OR 6:00 pm

Location:  Famous Supply, 4701 Richmond Rd, Bedford Hts., OH   44146

For
most designers, specifying for a luxury kitchen is a pleasure.  With an expanded budget, savvy clients, and continual innovation by appliance makers, upscale kitchens can reach toward perfection.  However, keeping up with the new and innovative kitchen features can be daunting.  This course explores how to determine client needs and wants for a custom luxury kitchen, and then expands into products on the market, some new, some continually useful, that can truly customize the highest-functioning luxury kitchen for the clients.

Space is limited - RSVP by September 2nd to www.luxurykitchenceu.eventbrite.com
