President's Message

Autumn is quickly approaching.  Along with it comes the end of the current ASID fiscal year.  October 1st, the new 2014-15 board starts their term with Therese Kish, Allied ASID, at the helm.  This is why the chapter holds our Annual Meeting in September.  It is when we all come together to review the past year, swear in our new board, and look forward to what may be coming.  No one has a better idea of where our industry is and where it is going than our ASID national executive Vice President and CEO, Randy Fiser.

On Wednesday, September 24th at the beautiful and historic Glidden House, Randy will be joining us at our Annual Meeting to discuss the state of the industry and what ASID is working on to advance our profession.  I have had the opportunity to hear and interact with Randy at a number of leadership conferences.  He is a dynamic speaker.  We are very privileged and excited that he is able to join us at our Annual Meeting so that everyone in our organization may glean very valuable information and insight.

On a personal note, I look forward to the Annual Meeting because it gives me a chance to catch up with colleagues and friends.  We're often isolated with our own careers and family.  To the students and emerging professionals out there, this is an excellent opportunity to network at one of our best attended yearly events.

It is hard to believe that another year has past already.  Thank you to all those members who have contributed their time and resources to furthering the profession of interior design.  Because Design Matters.

See you on the 24th!
