Community Resource Council Wants Feedback

The Community Resource Council (CRC) is conducting a survey to get feedback from residents of Shawnee County. This survey is intended to help future projects benefit the wants and needs of residents in Shawnee County.

CRC is a Non-Profit organization that works with other Shawnee County organizations to make progress, track results and maximize available resources for all residents of Shawnee County. CRC brings together over 60 organizations to accomplish a common goal for the county.

The survey is available here.

The Jayhawk Project

After initially opening its doors in 1926, the Jayhawk Theatre has held many performances and film showings throughout the years. After closing in 1976, the Jayhawk has passed through the owners but is now making a comeback in the Topeka Community.

Partner Jeff Carson said, "We are working hard to build a state of the art movie theatre here. Topeka needs another entertainment venue and the 900 seat Jayhawk Theatre will be a real jewel for the community. We will program independent films, art films, film festivals and small live events. We have restructured the board and our strategic objectives. We are ramping up the fundraising effort. The goal is to create a modern comfortable space with all state-of-the-art lighting, projection and sound. I can't wait to get started on the renovation."

More information on The Jayhawk can be found at their Facebook page, Twitter handle or website. Call (785)-233-4295 to set up a tour.
