Options for ITT Students

The ITT campus in Evansville closed recently mid-semester with the closure of the entire institution nationwide. This left a lot of students in various health, information technology, business and other fields out of class in all stages of their degree process.

ITT credits do not transfer directly to HCC and other public higher education institutions because of various accreditation and other restrictions. However, there are many ways for the skills and knowledge earned to be transferred to a degree program at HCC. All ITT students are invited to attend one of two upcoming open houses for information:
  • For former ITT Nursing students: Wednesday, September 14, 2016 from 3-5 p.m. in the Sullivan Technology Center (STC) Room 310. Representatives from the admissions department, financial aid, and the nursing department will be present.
  • For all other ITT students: Monday, September 19 from 5:30--7 p.m. in the START Center, Sullivan Technology Center (STC) 2nd floor. Representatives from admissions, financial aid, career services departments and program faculty will be present.
Nerd Wars Return to HCC

Nerd Wars began again with the Aluminum Boat Challenge-and 34 students participating! The object was to make a boat out of 30 cm of aluminum foil to hold as many pennies as possible before it sank in a tub of water. Winners were the team of Scott Hoodenpyle and Mykela Jordan - their boat held 305 pennies before it sank and the students won a $10 prize offered through support from the College Foundation, Inc. Congratulations to students Scott and Myleka and faculty members Lori Threlkeld and Kara Becker. More photos on the college Facebook page. Enjoy Community Education Classes at HCC

Welcome to HCC's expanded Community Education/Lifelong Learning classes! Within the Fall 2016 Community Education Class Schedule you'll find classes to learn more about the starry night, write songs: live, love, and learn. Community Education classes are meant to have fun, to try out new ideas, to expand your horizons. Henderson Community College is pleased to offer these classes to our region. Part of our mission is lifelong learning and cultural enrichment and we are proud to continue that tradition through these classes. First class begins September 21. Can't make it to campus? Learn it online through Education to Go.

HUMANS of HCC

HCC is featuring students, faculty, staff, and alumni in an album of photos on the college Facebook page. Their stories are told in the Humans of HCC series.

I am in my second year working on my Associate in Arts degree and hope to finish this December. I am still undecided on my major and would like to
transfer to possibly Murray State University once I have graduated. I live in Sturgis, Kentucky, with my mother and have two part-time jobs working at
Tru-Value Hardware in Morganfield and also do some photography work. I am very involved in social media and enjoy working out at the HCC Fitness
Center after class. The two main reasons that I decided to attend HCC was to save money with the low cost of tuition and that it is close to my home. If I could make a suggestion to students attending HCC for the first time, it would be to not get stressed out. It seems like it is overwhelming the first few days, but it will work out if you just take it day by day and try to stay ahead in your classes.
