Good Day, Henderson Student,
As we move into the core of the spring 2016 semester, I wanted to share 5 top tips I have found for new and continuing students. Please keep these tips in mind as you work to keep warm this winter and continue to complete work for your classes this spring!
- Get involved on campus. All work and no socializing is boring.
- Always sit near the front of the class.
- I can't emphasize this enough: Introduce yourself to your professors and stop in during their office hours. They're nice people. Seriously. And they really like it when someone is interested in their classes..
- Recopy your notes after class. Or if you've typed them (which is recommended), do a quick read-through after class.
- If you are feeling overwhelmed, are having problems sleeping, or have gone through a breakup, visit The Start Center; second floor, STC. If you are feeling suicidal at any point, call your college's crisis number 270-831-9789 (Keith Sayles), or 270-831-9671 (Angie Watson), or call 911 immediately.
