Graduation Rocked!
On Friday, December 11th, we all had too much fun at Graduation! Sixty-three students walked the stage to get their degrees, diplomas and/or certificates (131 students graduated). HCS Superintendent Marganna Stanley was given the Distinguished Alumni Award by HCC Board Chair Cass Wilson. Speaker Linda White of Deaconess Hospital gave an inspiring speech to the students on leadership and awarded three (very unexpected) $1,000 scholarships to USI to three very happy graduates who begin their next chapter at USI in January.

Linda also helped our students see the joy in "paying it forward" by providing a check for $100 to each student made out to the College Foundation so that the student could give back to HCC in honor of someone important to them. HCC thanks Linda White for this very generous student learning experience! Top photo: Marganna Stanley; bottom: Linda White, Kris Williams, Cass Wilson. Photos by John Merril. BuildSmart News is Fantastic!
With dedicated teamwork and the generosity of the community, alumni, faculty and staff members, Henderson Community College has nearly reached the ambitious $1.25 million BuildSmart goal. This campaign is an historic and innovative statewide opportunity which provides for a 3 to 1 match for gifts--which means the $1.25 million raised locally allows for a $5 million investment on the campus of Henderson Community College.
The enhancements to campus facilities that BuildSmart will  fund will continue to make possible safe, accessible, and current education and training for the region. Thank you to all who have participated in a wide variety of ways. If you have not participated, it is not too late to join the others committed to this project. Contact Jennifer Preston at 270.831.9805 or by email before December 18th, 2015.
