Rainbow Graduation & Induction into the LGBT Alumni Ceremony
Saturday, June 7th, 4:00pm
at the Ida and Cecil Green Faculty Club
Please join the UC San Diego LGBT community as we come together to honor the students who are graduating, our volunteers, our scholarship recipients and all who have impacted our community over the last year. The event serves as the formal induction of the graduates into the family of the UC San Diego LGBT Alumni. Although many people do get dressed up for the event, it tends to be a queer little get together, with all the trappings of our community, so be yourself. We conclude our ceremony with a scrumptious spread of good food.
Graduating and want to participate? Register here!

From Dr. Shaun Travers, Director of UC San Diego's LGBT Resource Center
Dear community~
As many of you know Ricky Ambriz's life was cut short on Friday, May 16th. Ricky Ambriz was a third year Revelle College student, Summer Bridge Class of 2011 alum, and was an active member of the UC San Diego Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity. A fundraiser was started to financially support his family during this time of need, if you are able to donate, please go to the following website: http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/fallen-lion-ricky-ambriz/179835
Also, Dr. Anouchka Mihaylova was killed last weekend. She was a Project Scientist in the Department of Bioengineering, and her family is still seeking out information on the hit and run.
For any students who are in need of support and assistance during this difficult time, you are encouraged to contact Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). Counselors are on call on a 24-hour basis and can be reached after hours at (858) 534-3755. If you are a faculty or staff member looking for counseling and support, you can contact the Faculty Staff Assistance Program at (858) 534-5523.
As always, we remember how quickly things can change. Our LGBT community creates and supports each other with a sense of family, community and respect. As we experience these losses, I encourage you to take time with one another, and remember how precious our lives are.
