We are specifically looking for someone who has skills in: - Cross-issue social justice and diversity organizing in higher education, with a focus on critical, intersectional approaches.
- One on one supervision experience with diverse students, including selection and training.
- Diverse student leadership development, advising, and mentoring experience

UCSD Library New LGBT Resource
Handbook of Psychology and Sexual Orientation / Charlotte J. Patterson and Anthony R. D'Augelli, eds.
Recent years have seen a plethora of research on the psychology of sexual orientation. The Handbook of Psychology and Sexual Orientation synthesizes that research, offering an excellent summary of the state of current understanding in the field.
The book is divided into four broad themes. "Concepts, Theories, and Perspectives" explores issues such as bisexual and transgender identities, biological foundations of sexual orientation, and demographic perspectives on sexual orientation. "Development over the Life Course" looks at sexual orientation development from adolescence through middle adulthood and beyond. "Domains of Experience" examines sexual orientation in relation to careers, health, mental health and family. And, finally, "Communities and Contextual Issues" considers social implications of sexual orientation: societal attitudes, victimization and hate crime, and race/ethnicity among LGB communities. Summer Session I Course
CGS 102: Intersectional and Trans Embodiments of Race and Gender
 This course focuses on performances and narratives of boundary-crossing embodiments of gender and race, including trans and genderqueer expressions, performances that make explicit the intersectionality of race, gender, and class, and narratives of counter-normative bodies in dissent. Readings include scholarly research, memoir, fiction, drama, and film presentations. Students will be assigned analytical as well as creative projects. |
AIDS Walk San Diego

 By joining team "UCSD Communities" and walking, running, donating or volunteering for AIDS Walk San Diego, you will help to provide much-needed resources to some of San Diego's most invaluable HIV/AIDS service organizations. With your amazing support, our Team "UCSD Communities" can make a real difference to the many people impacted by HIV/AIDS in our area. UC San Diego has consistently raised the most amount for any college/university team in the county! The process for this is completely online, very simple, and only takes some time at the computer so do it now! And don't forget to invite folks to join the team, too, especially in those first e-mails! We usually have between 20 and 30 folks on our UCSD team, but with the size of UCSD, we can increase the team membership exponentially! |
LGBT Healing Trauma Group for Survivors

 The Center for Community Solutions (CCS) will be holding a Healing Trauma Group for LGBT adults of all genders who have experienced physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse. CCS staff and volunteers are informed on issues, challenges, and barriers specific to the LGBT communities. It is part of our core values and organizational culture to work with LGBT individuals with respect, compassion, and confidentiality. We welcome everyone including lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, queer, questioning, transgender, genderqueer, and intersex people as well as those involved in the BDSM/Leather, polyamory, and tantric communities.
