Get Ready for May: Eyeglasses Recycling Month!

Have you finished your spring cleaning yet? If you found any old pairs of eyeglasses, please consider recycling them! New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has declared May Eyeglasses Recycling Month and highlighted the work and achievements of the New Jersey Lions Eyeglasses Recycling Center.

Past Chairperson/CEO PCC Mary Devon O'Brien serves as Executive Director of the New Jersey Lions Eyeglasses Recycling Center. She has volunteered with them for over ten years to help meet vision needs across the world. There is a tremendous need for eyeglasses in other countries and by collecting, cleaning, sterilizing and sorting the eyeglasses volunteers can help to meet the demand.

The New Jersey Lions Eyeglasses Recycling Center collects over one million glasses per year and help over 400,000 people worldwide. To learn more about the center and find out how to donate your old glasses, please visit their website at http://njlerc.org
