News you can use from GES
|
Good Evening, this is Todd Warren, calling with a very important announcement from PTA regarding the loss of teachers and staff at Guilford Elementary.
Tomorrow, Thursday, April 3rd, at 5:45 the GES PTA will host a Parent Forum to discuss how these cuts will affect our students. The President of the Guilford County PTA, Katie Sayani, will also be present to share SIMPLE ways we can speak up for our students.
Every person can make a huge difference with these SIMPLE and EASY ideas! If we don't act now, these cuts will be made permanent in the next few weeks and will be set in place for next year.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow night at 5:45 in the Media Center. Even if you need to come later, please stop in to see how we can support for our students!

And More Cuts!!!!

Do you know that--
- we got brand new computers at GES.
- This would be great except -
- now instead of 3 computers in each classroom
- There is now only 1 (one) computer for the entire class and the teacher to share
- These computers are supposed to be used for centers, reading, AR tests & other educational activities.
- In this 21st century of technology where much of the education in our classrooms utilizes computers----Our teachers at GES have had yet another resource taken away.
Next year the number of students will be higher, exceptions of what is to be accomplished will not have changed, but there will be more students, less computers and less staff to help our students be the best they can be. Parents need to make their voices heard or this is going to keep happening
