- 1 minute spent reading = 1 mile traveled
- Each individual student has been challenged to read 3114 minutes
- You may count time spent reading books, eBooks, newspapers, magazines & online Internet articles.

Good evening,
This is Kris Vecchione, principal of Guilford Elementary, calling with a few important announcements for the week of Nov. 25th.
Menchies
Please join us at Menchie's Frozen Yogurt on Monday, Nov. 25th from 3pm to 8pm and 10% of all purchases will be donated to Guilford Elementary.
Guilford Elementary will host its Science Fair on Thursday, December 12th. If your child desires to participate this year, please send in the interest form as soon as possible. Also, if your child has received the research plan forms, please remember that their project MUST be approved be a teacher before they can begin their project.
Please join us for Chick-Fil-A Night from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 3rd after Thanksgiving break. We look forward to seeing you then!
GES Book Drive for Classroom Libraries

 We are excited to announce that GES submitted the work of Taylor Acosta to the reflections at the county level. Great Job Taylor!!!!! The county level work will be displayed at the Greensboro Cultural Center from Wednesday, January 8-Friday, January 10th. The County Reflections Awards Ceremony will be held January 10th at 5:30 p.m.
Reading Buddies-
We have held a training with the current reading buddies, and are in the process of matching up the adults with their reading buddies. Emails and phone calls will go out this week and next regarding the Reading Buddies program.
OVER 200 PEOPLE Attended: We had an awesome turnout for Doughnuts for dads and the Family Movie Night.
We had over 200 people at each event. A great start for our Male Involvement program, and our family night events. Thank you everyone for your support and help with these events. Watch for more exciting things happening at GES.
