Weekly Connect Ed from Ms. Kris Vecchione
|
Greetings! This is Kris Vecchione, principal of Guilford Elementary, calling with a few important announcements for the week of October 7th.

- October is National Disabilities Awareness Month and we are celebrating these differences at GES. All of our students are special and bring a variety of strengths that we can celebrate!
- Come out to join Skate Night this
Tuesday, Oct. 8th from 6:30-9:00. Don't forget that the school earns money for each person who attends. You will find many staff members including our "Featured Teachers": Ms. Huber, Ms. Clinard, Ms. Casey, and Ms. Monroe! The theme is "Show Your School Spirit" and there will be plenty of raffles throughout the night.
- Third Graders will participate in CogAT Testing on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week so be sure to eat breakfast at home or at school and get a good night's sleep.
-
The PTA will begin Fall Festival Planning on Thursday, October 10th at 2:30pm in the PTA Room. All are welcome to bring ideas.
Thank you for your support!

A "Totally New" AR
(Accelerated Reade) Experience
|
| A Totally New AR Experience |
As part of our Initiative to Support Reading at GES, the PTA has purchased the new AR program. This program is designed to help teachers and librarians manage and monitor children's independent reading practice.
This new version is an online based program, and Ms. Murry is currently in the process of training the staff. All tests and points that were taken on the previous system, will transfer, so your students will not lose any points they have already earned for this year.
