Weekly Connect Ed from Ms. Kris Vecchione
|
We are excited about our BACK TO SCHOOL
celebration from 6:30-9:00 pm Tues, Sept. 10 at Skateland on
Stagecoach Trail. We will have games, prizes, and lots of fun! We will also share a few bits about Title I, our PTA budget, and Boy Scout opportunities. We will have lots of featured teachers there!
Also on Tuesday, September 10th our third graders will take the NC Beginning of Grade 3 English Language Arts Reading Test. Please ensure that your child is in class by 7:45am.
A reminder to all interested students: Wednesday, September 11th from
2:30-4:00 pm our talented Music Teacher, Ms. Van Patter, will hold auditions for the upper grades performance group called "The Company." This week marks the anniversary of the tragic events of September 11th. Please know that if you are First Responder, we value and appreciate the work you do for our community. Thank you! Every dime, every dollar, every student is the theme of our wonderful PTA! We have kicked off our fundraiser and the PTA is committed to ensuring all funds raised will return directly to our students. One of the main purposes of our Fundraiser is to add to classroom libraries and our main library. | Click to view prizes |
The due date for our fundraiser is September 24 and orders will return at the beginning of November. Don't forget that there are special prizes for every 10 items sold! Thank you for your support! Have a good evening.

Ask your child what "PAWS" Means? PAWS
P- Practice and Perseverance
A- Acting Respectfully
W-Working with integrity
S-Showing Self Discipline
GES has a set of school-wide expectations (Perseverance, respect, integrity, self discipline) for the common areas
- Restrooms
- Hallways
- Buses
- Cafeteria
- playgrounds
Students earn tickets for the positive behaviors shown in these common areas. With these tickets, they can do one of 4 things-
- Save the ticket for a school wide event at the end of the 9 weeks that will "cost" 20 tickets
- Save the tickets and spend it at the end of the month in our "cheetah store"
- put the ticket in the classroom jar where the teacher will draw from once a week to get prize
- put it in a grade level tub where students will be entered into a drawing for a larger prize which takes place every Wednesday.
It is your child's choice as to how they want to sped or save their tickets.
Like their behavior, what they earn is in their hands. |
