 A message from the Principal Ms. Kris Vecchione

Open House- August 22, 5:00-6:30 p.m.
To welcome all of our parents and students, we have planned an Open House for Thursday, August 22nd, from 5:00-6:30 pm.
I invite you to come out, meet our wonderful staff, tour our school, meet other families, and ask any questions you may have.
Please enter only through the gym entrance, near the main entrance, as we have packets we will distribute to each family.
Class Rosters: Please note that class placements will not be sent in the mail. Instead, all rosters will be posted at Open House in each hall according to the grade level of your child. For example, Kindergarten rosters will be located in the Kindergarten hall while Fifth grade rosters will be located on the Fifth grade hall.
ACES due dates: Also, if you are interested in our after school ACES program, you are welcome to fill out an application the night of Open House. However, if you would like to ensure that your child's spot is secured please return the ACES application, with $15 check or money order, prior to Open House.
For more information, please call the school at 316.5844. We look forward to seeing you Thursday Night at Open House between 5:00 and 6:30 pm! Thank you and have a great evening.

 Parent Involvement at GES
|
We want to welcome all GES parents to partner with GES in many different ways.
"When schools, families, and community groups work together to support learning, children tend to do better in school, stay in school longer, and like school more."
This is our goal for the 2013-2014 school year. To partner each and every GES parent to make this year a success for our students.
There are many ways to support GES on campus, off campus, while you are working, or running errands. You DO NOT have to be on campus, on a committee or at events to support GES and your students.
What can I do to help from home?
- Cut out items for teachers,
- Count and sort box tops or Labels for Education.
- Send in items for events, or for teachers
- Share ideas
- Create decorations for events
- Make phone calls
- Write grants
- Contact businesses
- Find sponsors for events or business to partner with GES.
What can I do to help at night?
- Volunteer- skate night or spirit nights (1x/month)
- Volunteer- family night or social event.
- Take pictures of events
- Be on an event planning committee for social, book fair, fundraiser, etc
- Help with event and school decorations

What can I do during the school day?
- Help in your child's classroom
- Make Copies (1 day/month)
- Volunteer in the library
- Reading Buddy
- Be on an event planning committee for social, fundraiser or other events.
- Help with event and school decorations.
- Help with class parties, or reward celebrations
- Proctor for standardized testing
- Volunteer at school events.
There are many more ways to be part of the GES community. We want your input, your ideas, and so much more.
