Hon. Dennis J. Smith (Ret.) - Fairfax, VA
The Honorable Dennis J. Smith recently retired after serving the Fairfax Circuit Court for twenty years, including four terms as Chief Judge. Prior to his tenure on the bench, he enjoyed a successful career in private practice with a focus on family law. A Past President of the National Conference of Metropolitan Courts, Judge Smith is also a Member of the Boyd-Graves Conference and the Virginia Civil and Criminal Benchbook Committee. He previously served as Chair of the Judicial Education Committee for the Judicial Conference of Virginia and of the Advisory Committee on the Establishment of a Family Court in Virginia. Judge Smith now brings this distinguished record of leadership and achievement to The McCammon Group to serve the mediation, arbitration, and special master needs of lawyers and litigants throughout the Commonwealth and beyond.

Hon. Lawrence L. Koontz, Jr. (Ret.) Honored by Dalton Inn of Court
|
Virginia Supreme Court Senior Justice Lawrence L. Koontz, Jr., a Neutral with The McCammon Group, was awarded the Ted Dalton American Inn of Court Professionalism Award on April 20, 2015. This award honors the memories of Professor Roger D. Groot, attorney Oliver W. Hill, Sr., and U.S. District Judge James C. Turk. The award was established to pay homage to competence, civility, professionalism, and ethics in the legal world.
Prior to joining The McCammon Group, Senior Justice Koontz served the Supreme Court of Virginia with distinction for more than a decade. He is a former Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals of Virginia, Judge of the 23rd Judicial Circuit Court, and Chief Judge of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court in the 23rd Circuit.
We join the Ted Dalton American Inn of Court in saluting Senior Justice Koontz.
