Dear St. Joseph's RCS Families,

We had great weather for our 3rd annual 5k and 1 mile fun run this past Saturday. Congratulations to all of our students that participated! Thank you to all of our volunteers for your support during the race, registration, awards ceremony, and pasta dinner! A special congratulations to our 1 mile fun run winner, Jayson F., and our 5k student winner, Osy O.!

This week is Talent Show Week! Talent show will be Wednesday, May 18th, at 7:00 PM. For parents that cannot make the evening talent show, or for our Kindergarten students, we will have a performance at 12:30 PM on Wednesday May 18th. Additionally this week, our middle school students will attend a field trip to the National Gallery of Art on Thursday. Thursday, May 19th will also be a Box Top Tag Day. Middle school students will have their box top tag day on Wednesday May 18th.

Looking into next week, On Monday May 23rd we will have a Family Night Out at Sullivan's Steak and Beverage Company. Field day will be next Friday, May 27th, which will also be a Noon Dismissal.

St. Joseph's RCS will have our 2nd annual Vacation Bible School this summer July 11th-15th. We had a wonderful time last year sharing a faith filled journey with our camp attendees. We look forward to doing the same this summer! Click HERE for more information and registration.

Are you looking for something exciting to do outside this summer? St. Joseph's RCS has set a date for our 2nd annual Golf Tournament. We will have the tournament on August 19th. Mark your calendars, and get ready to play at Cross Creek this summer! For more information visit the GOLF TOURNAMENT PAGE on our website or  REGISTER HERE.

We have a lot of new families interested in enrolling for next year! We had two more families come and tour today! New families entering K-8th, you may apply online  http://stjosrcs.org/registration/ by clicking on the TADS link. To register for our PRE-K program please download the PRE-K registration form from our website and bring or mail to the school office. Keep spreading the word about St. Joseph's RCS!

To try and help support some of our families in need I ran my first of three triathlons this year on this past Sunday May 15th, after struggling through the open water swim, I finished 143 out of 563 participants. Later in the year I will run the Diamondman Challenge and Ironman Maryland! The Diamondman Challenge will be a 70.3 mile half-ironman on September 10th, and the final race will be a 140.6 mile Ironman on October 1st. So far this year I have trained over 500 miles. I'm hoping the miles I put into training and running these races result in funds raised towards our Principal's Emergency Tuition Assistance fund. If you would like to donate towards this cause, please visit our school website www.stjosrcs.org and click the DONATE button at the bottom of the page. Under the add instructions link, type RUN. Thank you to all of you have already helped donate to this cause!

A reminder for next school year: arrival will begin at 8:10 am and end at 8:25 am. Dismissal will begin at 3:20 pm and end at 3:35 pm. Additionally, 4 year olds will be able to attend before care for the 2016-2017 school year. Please call or email with questions or concerns.

You make the library computer system possible and I do appreciate it. Finally a huge thanks also to all the parents who contributed books or money for books this fair.
