From the Principal's Office

Dear St. Joseph's RCS Families, Happy Thanksgiving! I hope this week is one that you are able to sit down with your family and/or friends to reflect on all the wonderful things you are thankful for. For me, I will be thanking God for Blessing me with the opportunity to be a leader in the St. Joseph's RCS community. It is truly a wonderful day every day I come to work and it is all because of the faculty, families, and students focused on learning and growth. As promised, I stated in my last newsletter I would share the ways teachers and families are incorporating math ideas. A few new websites teachers are using include IXL and Khan Academy. Students are able to work on specific skills based on their needs. Additionally we have parents showing how lines, angles, measurement, and curves are used in design and architecture. How addition, subtraction, equations, fractions, and ratios are used in medicine. Finally, how math fractions and patterns relate to music. If we take a second look we can find math in almost everything we do. Find out more ways math can be used outside of the classroom HERE If you have not done so already, please make sure you have submitted your APPLICATION FOR FINANCIAL AID. You can click the link or find it on the school website. The DEADLINE for returning families to apply is on DECEMBER 4th. We are all be focusing on improving our math abilities and performance. I hope the ideas I shared and the website can be helpful. With a common focus, we can make extraordinary gains! STUDY THOSE MATH FACTS! Child Protection Policy- visit www.virtus.org to sign up. SJRCS's Inaugural Golf Tournament!
|
Saint Joseph Regional Catholic School held their Inaugural Golf Tournament at Cross Creek Country Club. For November we could not have asked for better weather. Lots of pars and birdies were scored! All players received a gift bag with lots of items and numerous raffle prizes were given out. Great fun was had by all. Also we would like to thank our many sponsors that donated money and raffle prizes to our outing. These sponsors are what makes our fund raising efforts so successful! Also we would like to give a special thanks to our main event sponsor Waldorf Ford! Thank you for your support of our school! Waldorf Ford was also our main event sponsor for last years school 5k run!
Next year our golf outing will be held in August. Look in the newsletter next spring for details. Plan to attend. You will have a fantastic time and help raise money for our school.
With this fund raiser we are now able to put new tile floors in two more classrooms!
