Dear St. Joseph's RCS Families, Today we began our World's Finest Chocolate fundraiser. Please find more information about this fundraiser in the communication folders sent home today. This is an excellent fundraiser for us, and we profit 50% of sales. This week is a busy week here at St. Joseph's RCS. This Wednesday, Veteran's Day, will be conference day. Please make sure that you have signed up for a conference with your child's teacher(s). Our conference schedule hours are between 11:00 AM-7:00PM. Our $1.00 tag day to support 8th grade will be on Thursday! Lastly, we will be closed on Friday, Nov. 13th. I look forward to seeing many of you this week during parent teacher conferences, and working together towards the success of all our students! I shared my instructional focus for this year. If you missed it, here it is again. We will all be focusing on improving our math abilities and performance. I've had a few parents share some great ideas and resources. What are you doing to help? I would love to hear about what you are doing at home, so I can share these strategies with our school community. I have already received some great ideas, and I am looking forward to hearing about more! STUDY THOSE MATH FACTS! We love to have our parents and family members visit and help out around the school. Have you taken the Child Protection class yet (Virtus)? If not, please go to www.virtus.org and sign up. This summer, St. Joseph's RCS also launched our new website www.stjosrcs.org. You can still access this the same way through the church's website, or you can type in the website address to your web browser. The 2015-16 School Calendar and School Handbook are posted here. We are in need of volunteers

to help with set up on Thursday, November 12 from 5:00pm til 9:00pm
- to help with various booths Saturday at the Bazaar from 9:00 am til 4:00pm
We are in need of a Jolly Fella (Santa) for the Pictures with Santa booth from10:00am til 1:00pm!
(Must be Child Protection Program/Virtus Trained -
Costume provided - Breaks provided)
If you can help by being Santa for any amount of time, please contact
Marianne Schwenz asap. Thank you!
Important information:
- You do NOT have to have completed the Child Protection Program (Virtus Training) to volunteer at the Bazaar (unless you are Santa).
2. You can work as many or as few hours as your time allows.
3. There WILL NOT be volunteer sign in sheets at the Bazaar.
Please log your hours in using the HSA website after the
event. You can access the HSA website through Monday's
enewsletter at the bottom of the Home and School section.

Child Protection Electronic Background Screening

Child Protection Electronic Background screening will now be available for St. Joseph's Parish & St. Joseph's Regional Catholic School in the school office from 8:30 am - 10:00am Wednesdays & Thursdays. Please contact Mrs. Stock in the school office at 301-937-7154 or by e-mail at schooloffice@stjosrcs.org
to schedule an appointment. You will need to bring your volunteer application, 2 forms of ID and payment of $13.50, checks made out to St. Joseph's or cash.

Schedule a Parent-Teacher Conference
| Parents,
This year we will once again be using Sign-Up Genius to schedule our Parent-teacher Conferences on November 11. To schedule a conference please follow the directions below.
In the upper right hand corner click on "Find a sign up"
Under "Search by e-mail" enter the address schooloffice@stjosrcs.org and answer the security question
Click on the class(es) you wish to schedule a conference with then sign up for the available time slot that works best for you.
Click "Submit & Sign up"
If you already have a Sign-Up Genius account, sign in and complete the sign up.
If you do not have a Sign-Up genius account, complete the information requested, you do not need an account to use this program.
If you are do not know if you have an account, follow the directions for not having an account, Sign-Up Genius will let you know if you have an account and ask you to sign in.
Once you have signed up for your conference(s) you will receive a reminder email 2 days prior to the conference.

Christmas Pagaent Costumes Needed

It's the almost the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!
We have started to prepare for the Christmas play and we are looking for costumes! We are going to have a "Super Christmas" play and need some superhero costumes. All of our actors are middle school size. So if you have a Captain America, Storm, Black Widow, Supergirl, Batgirl, Rogue, Hulk, Iron Man, Hawk Eye, Flash, Mrs. Fantastic or Shadow Cat, please send them in or contact Mrs. Miller. | Tuition Assistance Applications | |
The tuition assistance applications are now open. Please apply. The application takes some tim; please do not wait to the end to apply. Parents who applied late or submitted portions of their application late were refused assistance. Families do not need to be Catholic in order to receive assistance from the Archdiocese. Parents must apply through the ADW in order to be considered for Pastoral Tuition Assistance.
2016 - 2017 ADW Tuition Assistance Program - Open Application Period Begins
Applications for the 2016 - 2017 Archdiocesan Tuition Assistance Program will be available online beginning Monday, September 28, 2015. The deadline for applicants to apply is Friday, December 4, 2015. Families may apply online by logging onto www.stjosrcs.org and completing the following steps:
- Click on Tuition Assistance under the "About" tab.
- Click on the appropriate (English or Spanish) "TADS - Financial Aid Application" link
