From the Principal's Office |
Dear St. Joseph's Regional Catholic School Families,
Hurray! Congratulations to our students on successfully completing the 2nd quarter of the school year! We hope that everyone takes the chance to reflect back on his/her accomplishments this past quarter. We are very proud of everyone's hard work.
On Saturday, we will be using SchoolReach to launch the first of several surveys related to our school accreditation, AdvancED. This survey relates to our "Catholic Identify" and our community. Please take the time to complete the survey; it truly only takes a few minutes. The link located below will take you directly to the survey. The SchoolReach message will read:
In an effort to improve system practices, Saint Joseph Regional School is conducting a Catholic Identity Defining Characteristics Parent and Community Survey. We value your opinion and ask that you take the time to complete this survey.
In order to complete the survey, please go to:
http://www.advanc-ed.org/survey/public/2605653
Please be assured that your responses to this survey will be anonymous. Your honest feedback is appreciated. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Remember that the school choir rehearsal is on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, because of the Martin L. King, Jr. Holiday on Monday. School is closed on Monday in observance of this holiday.
The Middle School students will be attending the Youth Mass and Rally for Life on January 25, 2013. Thank you again to the Knights of Columbus, Prince George's Council #2809 and St. Hugh of Grenoble Council #10885 for their donation of the funds for the buses. A few extra tickets are available if anyone is interested in attending the Rally and Mass. Please note that transportation will have to be provided on your own, as all seats on the buses have been filled. See below for itinerary.

Friday, February 1, 2013-Student Celebration of Our Catholic School
We have made the School Choice of
Catholic Schools--Raise the Standard!
We are offering the School Choice scarf, the "Raise the Standard" band, and the "Catholic Schools Raise the Standard" pin as a bundle--all for $3!
Please see the school office to purchase these School Spirit items (the scarf, band, and pin). We look forward to seeing our students and parents looking good! |
Please Help St. Joseph's Food Pantry! |
St. Joseph's food pantry, located in the church, is running very low. We are in need of all types of food: peanut butter, pasta, rice, cans of fruit, vegetables, cereal, etc. Please consider picking up a couple extra boxes of whatever you buy for yourself and donate it to the food pantry. Some find it helpful to pick just one item and buy it regularly for the pantry. Drop-off boxes are located in your children's classrooms or in the school office. Thank you for your continued support in helping the less fortunate.

St. Joseph's CYO Baseball/Softball Registrations |
St. Joseph's CYO
Baseball/Softball Registrations
We will be holding our baseball/softball registrations on Jan 23rd from 7 to 8 pm in the Multipurpose Room of St Joseph's Regional Catholic School. This will be for grades 2-8. If there wasn't a team previously due to an insufficient number of players, please check with us again and hopefully we will have enough to field a team. T-ball registration will be held at a later date (stay tuned). We will be holding uniform collections the same time as the above registration dates!
At the time of registration you will need the
registration money ($100) and the uniform deposit ($40).
It is imperative for CYO to know how many teams we will have and how many uniforms we will need.
Please feel free to e-mail any questions to cyostjoseph@gmail.com or call Melissa Gott @ 301-642-1967.
God Bless and play ball,
Melissa GottJ |
Go Green ~Recycle Your Paper~ |
Help our environment and our school at the same time--bring your catalogs, newspapers, and magazines to the Abitibi recycle bin in our parking lot. This makes money for the school and keeps paper o ut of our landfills. We wish to especially thank those who have been recycling their paper--you've made a difference! We are in need of more paper that is donated--so we are asking if you can also see if your family, neighbors, or friends would also like to donate and recycle their paper. Thank You!
(Please do not include cardboard.)
Recycle paper in the
Green and Yellow Bin
in our parking lot. |
