I just attended a wonderful 4 day livestream class on Bridging Money & Meaning by Marcia Wieder. The first 2 days were spent doing deep inner work. Delving into the shadow side of ourselves, we were looking for ways we sabotage what we really want to do. Often there are "parts" of ourselves in our unconscious who were formed when we were young to "protect" us. The challenge is to bring these parts to consciousness, dialogue with them and transform them into conscious allies.
This is an interesting time for Reiki...William Rand will have an article you will want to be sure to read in the Summer edition of Reiki News Magazine! The Spring edition was challenging each of us to look at new information about Usui and Reiki. This involves updating our knowledge and beliefs, as well as releasing old stories...
Release
I received a Doreen Virtue "Messages from your Angels" calendar for Christmas. The thought for March is "I release any judgement toward myself as I view myself through the lens of Love. I have Compassion for myself, knowing that I am always doing the best I can." The explanation that followed is summarized below.
Releasing judgement toward yourself is self-forgiveness. It differs from accepting blame. Instead it asks you to first face your feelings of guilt or anger. Admitting and owning your emotions releases the power they had over you previously while they remained hidden secrets.
The key person to forgive is yourself. Any anger, resentment or grudges that you hold toward others can be traced back to feelings you have about yourself. This is why some of your attempts to forgive others have seemed unsuccessful. Until you forgive yourself, self-reproach will ooze into your relationships with those around you. Self-forgiveness also lessens the likelihood of "projecting" your issues onto others.
Release is something both Reiki and walking the labyrinth can assist us in accomplishing. They tap into the Universal or Spirit or God-consciousness energy, to help us release old stories and embrace the truth of who we truly are, love & light.
