Success in smiles
It has been 13 years since EEO established our first special education /reading program in Harbour Island All Age School. Our 7 centers now extend all the way to Tarpum Bay and we have 139 students receiving specialized instruction this 2012-2013 school year. Each semester students continue to be mainstreamed as their goals are reached and their success continues.

Upcoming seminars, therapist visits and Hooray for more Literacy camps!
The success of the students in our Spring and Summer intensive literacy camps has been tremendous! The devoted teachers of Stephen Gaynor School in NYC have made lasting connections with the children of Hatchet Bay that have expanded into an increased self esteem and greater motivation. principals , teachers and families have noted thier improved academic progress and enthusiasm to learn. More camps are scheduled for this Spring 2013 and Summer. Thank you Jet Blue Airlines for their generous support!
Upcoming Teacher workshops
( Ministry of Education endorsed workshops that extand to all teachers on Eleuthera with transport provided) January: Dr. Tiffany North from Nova University, FL will present: " How to reach all learning styles within the mainstream classroom"
February: Emily DeLiddo from Colombia University, NYC Read and Write Program will return with in-class demonstrations and workshops on the Reading /Writing connection.
March: Speech Therapist Dr. Kim Scrivin will return with follow up evaluations and therapy suggestions

Teaching Teachers
EEO is providing opportunities for teachers to learn how to work with children with various Learning Challenges.
Interdisciplinary Therapists donate their time to evaluate students and provide follow up therapy techniques to teachers and families.
