desLibris a new made-in-Canada platform for delivery of Canadian content to libraries. Whether or not they permit distribution through desLibris, all publishers submitting books to the Canadian Electronic Library have access to an administrative interface which provides a number of benefits, including:  

• An easy way to set licensing and distribution rights
• Free Onix and MARC records for all titles
• Access to an archive of any previously-converted e-files

A new subject classification system for books and e-books, THEMA is becoming widely accepted internationally. We have now added a BISAC > THEMA translation table to desLibris, as a result of which now all of the nearly 20,000 books in the system include both BISAC and THEMA subject coding.

Publisher members can download Onix (containing all these new features) anytime from their dashboards. We'll also be pleased to supply MARC for any titles upon request.

Because it's built on Onix, desLibris provides additional benefits for publishers.

We also create MARC records for each title, from which we derive metadata improvements like LC Subject Heads, Jurisdication, Abstracts etc. These improvements get integrated with your onix records, and you'll see them in the desLibris representations of your books. These records also find their way into OCLC's WorldCat, the international library-facing database. 

More improvements are coming soon, including a fantastic new reader, and search engine enhancements to build exposure for your books. Although the full book is visible only to paying authenticated users, all titles are discoverable and preview-able through the public site.
