About Canadian Electronic Library

Marking its 10th Anniversary in 2015, CEL is a collection of Canadian books and documents licensed for library use. Currently over 55,000 titles are available for licensing under several models, including subscription and perpetual access. CEL is provided on the ebrary platform.

About desLibris (pronounced "day-LEE-bris")

An alternate platform for CEL content, desLibris also functions as a public discovery site for Canadian books and documents, which are presented in preview form along with links to publisher sites. 

Libraries can implement desLibris in minutes with an e-resource link. Or get deeper integration by adding our free MARC records to catalogues.

This monthly newsletter provides a small selection of titles from the thousands included in CEL and desLibris, featuring both new releases and perennial favourites.

The books shown below are just a sampling of popular titles from Canada's independent publishers, all available on these platforms for unlimited viewing.

Pricing
Affordablity is the key to Canadian Electronic Library services. 


The price difference in the platforms is primarily due to functionality. Both options offer unlimited multiple simultaneous user access to all titles online. On the ebrary platform, all titles are available for downloading to personal devices. On desLibris, only Documents are available for downloading.
