January 2016

Dear Readers,

Right here on our stage, Ladies and Gentlemen. The best of 2015. I hope you will enjoy the show!

First . . . a black and white clothing combo showing a tie white blouse with a black blazer and also, a turtle neck sweater with jeans. Classic, no?
Yes, for sure classic. But 2015 had some subtle updates:
the shirt is worn untucked, the blazer has slightly wider lapels and is a bit shorter than a boyfriend style, the sweater is somewhat oversized, and the jeans are my personal faves:
white for winter, and flared!
Want to look a bit taller and slimmer? This is a great way to do it. Still very comfy too. I kid you not.

And a few "cannot do without" products.

The first is a travel steamer. I bought this one a couple of years ago on Amazon.com and evidently hid it away in my linen closet such that I only just discovered it when I moved into my new place. And what a wonderful discovery it was! I use it at least two or three times a week.

You see, I have a number of silk blouses that are my "go to" tops. They are neutral in color, simple cuts, and wearable with everything from jeans to my longer black skirt for evening. If I am careful (very very careful) about spilling things like salad dressing, or olive oil for dipping, or red wine, God forbid, I can simply refresh them with this small light weight steamer and wrinkles be gone!
No ironing necessary. And it's super fast. Two minutes tops.
Love it.
(How miraculous if they could make a steamer for the face like this.)

As some of you may remember, I am a big fan of lip liner. It's an age thing. I now use a MAC product that is much better than my previous Estee Lauder auto pencil. It glides on like magic. Only drawback is that it needs a sharpener and quite often at that. But . . . it is such a natural color and saves so much wear and tear on my precious lips, I have converted and I am very glad I did. Oh! Did I mention it's much less expensive too?

And last but certainly not least, is my new favorite concealer. It is somewhat expensive, granted, but so far mine has lasted almost a year! I figure it's pennies per wearing if you don't wear concealer everyday.

It's called Touche Eclat by Yves St. Laurent and it's both a highlighter and a concealer. It's like applying silk sunlight and it gives my eyes a refreshed more vibrant look. Especially good for the day after book club or for photograph time.
Hello wedding photos!

I hope 2016 brings many new and wondrous people, places and things into your lives!

As a wise brother of mine reminded me:
"I am safe. It's only change."

Peace, health and plenty of love to you this year, my friends,

Nancy
