Having a hard time this year with inspiration for my holiday Style File (seeing too many same old/same old dress-up ideas), the heavens opened when I opened an email from Vogue today. Voila! At last, something new!
At first I was skeptical. What the heck is wrong with a little black satin clutch for dressy occasions? It's classic and quite appropriate, thought I.
Well, yes, that's true and it certainly has stood the test of time. However . . . here's the question.
Is it fun? Does it carry the holiday spirit (and your phone)? Does it say Merry Christmas and make you smile just looking at it? Unlike something you actually wear on your body like a sweater or scarf or even a dress, you can gaze at your purse as often as you like when it looks like any of the bags shown here:
See? Now, wasn't that fun?
So, maybe you don't need a new holiday purse.
Neither do I. I have that black satin clutch I mentioned. I'll just blow off the dust and it will be just fine. My phone probably won't fit in it, but that's ok.
Yet . . . I can't help but love these.
And, I believe I was very VERY good this year, so actually, that first one is my very VERY favorite.
