Greetings from the New East Side of Chicago!
I'm so sorry this edition of my Style File is a bit late this month, but I have a good excuse. I just moved downtown a week ago and I'm still getting settled in my new abode.
And may I just say, it's fabulous!
So, my dear friends, without further ado, let's get at it, shall we?
Those of you who like to peruse the fashion magazines may have noticed that the last few editions of Harper's Bazaar have excluded the best regular feature of all . . . the "Buy, Keep, Store" page!
I was appalled and I miss it terribly. However, I remain undaunted as I compiled this list myself and am quite pleased with it. I hope you will find it useful as a guide. And honestly? That's all it is. A guide. If you love an item on the "Store" list then by golly, you should wear it. Fashion be damned.
Here we go . . .
Buy:
Vests of any kind (long, short, or anywhere in between)
Over the knee boots
Skinny scarves
Clutch style purses Feminine necklaces Leather jackets
Keep:
Ankle boots (you can wear these with any style pant or jean)
Loafers Straight leg and skinny jeans Cropped slim line pants Turtle neck sweaters Back pack style purses Long pendant necklaces Man tailored white shirts Graphic prints Blazers Peacoats Fedora hats (I added this to the list because I own four fedoras, I still love the look and I plan to wear them as often as possible.) Store: Opaque tights with skirts and dresses Riding boots Leggings Long billowy scarves Tucked in tops Heavy statement necklaces Lace
You may notice that I do not suggest that you get rid of any particular item on the Store list. Rather, these are the kinds of things that come in and out of fashion on a fairly regular basis. So, if you want to wear your knee-high riding boots with leggings and a billowy scarf, please feel free to do so. No one will fault you for it. Certainly not I.
But, if you would like some help in culling your closet this season, or with choosing a few new items for your wardrobe, please give me a call @ 708-579-1016.
I may have changed my address but I have not changed my business goal of helping you to create the best possible wardrobe for your individual life style and your individual taste.
Perhaps we should have a chat about that . . . over a cappuccino here in my new neighborhood? I know a great little place . . .
Happily ever after,
Nancy
