Summer is here and event season is getting into full swing at History Park! This month celebrate Father's Day with Dad at History San Jose's
Transportation Day on Sunday, June 19! Held in partnership with the
California Trolley & Railroad Corporation, Transportation Day gives visitors a chance to see how people have been getting from A to B throughout history. Take a ride on our historic Horse Trolley pulled by Clydesdales, or test your endurance aboard a railroad handcar. We will unveil for the first time to the public our newly acquired 1899 Osen-Hunt automobile, the only car ever made in San Jose and the last remaining of its kind.
Later this month we will hold our annual Valley of Heart's Delight Event on Saturday, June 25. This year we have a new format and new theme that promises to make this event our best yet! All proceeds benefit the education programs at History San Josť. Look below for more details and a link to purchase your tickets today. We hope to see you there!
Until next time,

Catch It Before its Gone:The Wireless Age: Electronics Entrepreneurs Before Silicon Valley -- CLOSING JULY 31, 2016
Everyone is familiar with the local garage stories of Wozniak and Jobs, Hewlett and Packard, and the big semiconductor pioneers that gave today's Silicon Valley its name. It is the earlier electronics pioneers of the Bay Area, however, who produced some of the most revolutionary communication devices, laying the foundation for what is today's high-tech corridor. Discover some of the entrepreneurs who existed in a time when inventing was still an individual and passionate pursuit!
The Wireless Age: Electronics Entrepreneurs Before Silicon Valley is open Tuesday - Sunday from 11:00am - 4:30pm in the Arbuckle Gallery of the Pacific Hotel at History Park.

Museum Mysteries - What is that?!
Can you guess what this object is or what it was used for? Email your responses to [email protected], and one lucky person with the correct response will win a special prize courtesy of History San Josť! We'll post the answer in next month's newsletter.
Last Month's Object
Last month's Mystery Objects had some of our curators stumped. We asked if any of our readers might know what these objects are. Many people thought they were medical cupping glasses. Bonnie Bamburg wrote in saying she thought they were covers for plants to be shown at an exhibition. Our curators think they may be antique Hen Waterers. Thank you to everyone that submitted their guesses, they have been passed along to some of our curators to help properly identify this mystery object.
