Dear Friends,
The countdown has begun! One month from today History San José will host the 1st Annual San Jose Mini Maker Faire at History Park on Sunday, September 6th from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. This will be the first official Mini Maker Faire in the South Bay!
What is a Maker Faire? For the uninitiated - Maker Faire is the "Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth" that showcases makers, artists, inventors, tinkerers, builders, and many more innovative and creative individuals. The global Maker Faire network, created by MAKE magazine, now encompasses Faires in over 120 cities around the world. History San José is proud to partner with the Maker Faire Network to provide a platform for creative and innovative local Makers to share their work with public! The San Jose Mini Maker Faire will highlight more than 70 talented artists and Makers right here in our community and provide an assortment of hands-on activities for kids of all ages! We received hundreds of applications from local Makers and our Committee is in the process of finalizing the participants. Be sure to check out the San Jose Mini Maker Faire website, where we will soon have blog posts featuring participating Makers. History San Jose Members, you can get tickets at a discounted price! We hope you will join us for this fantastic event and discover the amazing artists and Makers living in our own backyard.
