Dear Friends,

Thank you. There are not enough words to express our gratitude for the support we received at our Valley of Heart's Delight fundraising party.

Thanks to the generosity of our guests, our Fund-a-Need raised more than $26,000 which will transform the Empire Firehouse from a storage space into a hands-on exhibition space and new attraction for History Park!

More than 120,000 people visit History Park each year, including
thousands of school children. Soon, they will be able to experience this brand-new exhibit designed in partnership with the San Jose Fire Museum (SJFM). The exhibit will highlight the history of firefighting in San Jose; teach fire safety; show off vehicles from both the
collections of HSJ and SJFM; and provide a fun space for kids and adults to learn together!

We are so thankful to all of our generous donors to the Valley of Heart's Delight event including, The Lee Lester Family, Linda Lester, Cilker Orchards, Focus Business Bank, Heritage Bank of Commerce, Hopkins & Carley, KT Urban, Samaritan Medical Center, San Pedro Square Market, Catered Too!, Gordon Biersch Brewing Company, Joseph George Fine Wines, Riverview Systems, Inc., and SP2.

We are also grateful to the services of Bill the Oysterman, John Paulson Master Photographer, San Jose Fire Museum, The Santa Clara Valley Model-T Ford Club, and CB Photo Design Studio. And finally, we thank our fabulous entertainers: Akoma Drummers, Fiddle Road, Khamsin Belly Dancers (pictured above), Los Lupenos de San Jose, Millennium Sounds Orchestra, and Vinh Son Liem Lion Dance.

Thank you, friends. We can't wait to start on our newest project!

Until next time,

Donor Profile: The Lee Lester Family

History San José wants to extend a most sincere thank you to Linda Lester and The Lee Lester Family for their generosity in supporting numerous projects at History Park. They helped us repair our orchard tractor, which is used for almost every
event at History Park.
Lee built and used this tractor in his own orchards until donating it to HSJ. The Lee Lester Family also provided crucial sponsorship and support for the beautiful decor at our recent Valley of Heart's Delight event, including hanging lanterns and gorgeous flower arrangements. We are so grateful for the generosity of donors like The Lee Lester Family. THANK YOU!
