ON THE OTHER SIDE OF EVERY EXPENSE IS A PERSON

Have you ever considered the relationships on the other side of your expenses? If not, take a moment to reflect on the names and faces on the other side of your needs and wants. Have you generously used your resources to serve them, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms, or have you used others to serve yourself? Do you see any names and faces of those in need with whom you might have neglected to share your gifts? Would you say that you have been greedy or generous with your treasure?

Solomon reflected: "A generous man will prosper, he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed" (Proverbs 11:25).

Create a treasure restoration plan. Assemble a conservative estimate of your next year's revenue and expenses. Ask God and a wise friend what percentage you should attempt to give, whether calculated from the gross or net. At the same time, pursue wise counsel as to where you should direct those dollars for the highest and best use. Never lose sight of giving generously, with godly wisdom, in both your personal and business dealings. Let every relationship -- including customers, vendors, employees, competitors, family, friends, or those you may not know who are in need -- reflect the heart of the Giver.

Blessings!
