MONDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2013 EVERY ENCOUNTER IS A DIVINE APPOINTMENT Do you often feel interrupted by emails, calls, or people stopping in to see you? The most sacred commodity to each one of us is our time, and we never seem to have enough of it. However, a wise man once said, "Time is the only true democracy." Each of us has the same amount everyday.
While surrendering our time to the Restorer does not add any minutes to our day or days to our calendars, it redeems our time to make it more abundant and eternal. Rather than an interruption, we see every encounter with a human being as a divine appointment to discover the Restorer at work. This makes our encounters and our days more productive. We choose more wisely, think more clearly, pray more frequently, and feel more nobly. We need less time to deal with the consequences of our foolish decisions. Time becomes more about developing relationships than giving the gift to ourselves. As a result, we become generous with our time.
Paul taught: "Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity" (Colossians 4:5).
Take a moment and pull out your calendar. What appointments have you set for the next week? Is it all about busyness or relationships? Are you trusting in the gift of time for your own selfish benefit or are you trusting in the Giver? This week, see every encounter as a divine appointment.
Blessings!
