A DAY IN THE LIFE OF FOOTE
|
Spring Scrapbook
|
|
Students spent their first week back from Spring Vacation engaged in a myriad of fun and engaging learning activities -- both on campus, and far from Loomis Place!
First graders in Cara Hames' class weren't bothered by Wednesday's power outage. They spent the time weaving Native American-style baskets from reed with Madame Giannella and their parents.
Second graders arrived to Hilary Pearson's classroom on Thursday morning to find animal "tracks" everywhere, which led to a creative writing and storytelling project imagining how they got there.
Third graders began their unit on division using honeycombs cereal to practice making equal shares and to grasp the concept of leftovers.
Fifth graders in Jim Adams' class practiced economical writing with 15-word reviews of books they read over break.
Eighth graders traveled to Washington, D.C., for a three-day trip visiting historic sites and museums they have been learning about in U.S. History and English classes. Curriculum Coordinator Lauren Goldberg is live-tweeting the trip @MrsG8thHistory.
