A Foote Take on a Classic American Play

The ninth grade play, Eugene O'Neill's Ah, Wilderness!, has been a big hit with audiences this week, playing to packed crowds in the Sandine Theater. Friday's show is almost sold out, and only a few tickets remain for tonight's performance (call the front desk for reservations, 203-777-3464.) Showtime is 7:00 p.m. Look in next week's Parent E-News for information on downloading photos of the show. In the meantime, find a photo gallery on our website.
Weaving Baskets the Native American Way
First and second graders started weaving baskets as part of their study of Native Americans. Angela Giannella and parent volunteers made the basket bases to get the children started. The students then soaked the reed to make it flexible and weaved around the base to form the basket. The students will share their finished creations with parents at the Native American Open House this spring.

From the Faculty Blogs

Hot off the heels of the 100th day of school, Alexandra Wittner's Kindergartners tackled some 100-themed math puzzlers (pictured).

Margy Lamere's first and second graders celebrated the 100th day by writing 100 words they knew how to spell - and forming them into word blizzards.

Third graders in Ashley Schnabel and Amanda Diffley's classes ventured outside to make snow volcanoes.

Adam Solomon's fifth graders learned a song to help them remember to simply before multiplying - then sang it as a round.

Faculty and staff gathered to watch a TED Talk on grit, and Curriculum Coordinator Lauren Goldberg blogs about what grit means for Foote students.

Lower School blogs and Middle School blogs.
