Snow Day Gratitude
and Reminders

A big THANK YOU to our facilities crew, above
(L to R): Mike, Walter, Pete, and Dave for getting our campus ready for our return this week
and throughout the winter!

Reminder on School Snow Day Notifications:

We seem to be in the midst (hopefully the end) of weather related closings, delays, etc. so we want reiterate the ways that Foote notifies families:

1) A message is recorded and sent out to all families' home phones. When it comes your caller ID will read FOOTE SCHOOL. The call is voice activated so when you pick up you need to say something. If you are not receiving this message or would rather this message go to a different phone please contact the front office or email jcox@footeschool.org.

2) A text message is sent to all parent cell phones Foote has on record.

3) If we have a cancellation or a delay it is listed on Channel 8 - WTNH (ABC), Channel 3 - WFSB (CBS), and Channel 30 - WVIT (NBC).

4) All cancellations and delays are listed on our website: www.footeschool.org

5) All Early Dismissals, unless announced before school starts, are announced by text message to cell phones and listed on the three TV stations and our website.

Book Swap

THE BOOK SWAP IS COMING!
Time for your children to sort through their bookshelves!

The Book Swap will take place Mon., Feb. 23 through Fri., Feb. 27 in the Sturley Room
(below the Perrine Library). The Swap is an opportunity for students to exchange books they've outgrown for books they want to read. It's a fun and popular event that's been a Foote tradition for decades. Click here for more details.

Many parent volunteers are needed to make the Book Swap a success. Sign-up at VolunteerSpot for time-slots throughout the week. If only a partial shift will work for you, please include a note about your time limitations.

Donate to the PTC's Annual Fundraising Auction

The Spring Fundraiser Auction, a Foote-Stompin' Barn Dance, is on Saturday, April 11. Tickets will be on sale soon and available for purchase online. The evening will feature live and silent auctions, food and drinks, a square-dance caller and live bluegrass music!

The PTC still needs parents to volunteer, sponsor the event and donate items to the auction. Examples of things you can donate are: new, unused items or gift certificates; a special skill, hobby or talent (e.g. sewing, home repair, baking desserts); or use of a time-share or vacation property.

Click here to download donation and sponsorship forms. Hard copies of these forms will also be available at the PTC desk near the main office.

Proceeds will fund field trips, assemblies, educational enrichment, faculty development and other important school programs. Please note: All materials and donations are due by Fri., March 27.

Questions? Contact the PTC Auction Co-Chairs, Christina Herrick and Rosa Holler at ptcauction@footeschool.org.

Scratch Day in Greenwich

On Sunday, February 1, 14 Foote students, from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade, and some of their parents, participated in a special day of computer programming workshops organized by Greenwich Academy.  Lower school technology specialist Julianne Ross-Kleinmann helped make sure this event went smoothly and increased the number of students who participated from last year.
