Thanksgiving Food Drive

The sixth grade is coordinating a school-wide Thanksgiving food drive for St. Ann's Soup Kitchen in Hamden.

We are asking each grade to collect a specific item by Nov. 17 to help fill 200 bags with fixings for a Thanksgiving Day meal. We are also raising money to purchase 25 turkeys. That collection box will be in the main office.

Your donations will help ensure our neighbors in need have a great Thanksgiving.

Here is the list of items to collect:

Kindergarten: canned cranberry sauce
MAG: canned green beans
Grade 3: canned soup
Grade 4: boxed instant stuffing
Grade 5: canned fruit
Grade 6: boxed baking mix (Bisquick)
Grade 7: canned peas or corn
Grade 8: boxed mashed potatoes
Grade 9: canned yams
Faculty and Staff: ground coffee

Student Artwork on Exhibit at Local Libraries

In case you missed it, Foote student artwork is now on display at the main branch of the New Haven Free Public Library. In honor of Veterans Day, an exhibit of fourth grade paintings based on "America the Beautiful" is hanging outside the children's section on the library's second floor. For the month of December, the exhibit will move to the The Woodbridge Town Library, where it will be on display through the end of the year.

Art teacher Jennifer Youngblood had each student randomly pick a line from the iconic Katharine Lee Bates' poem and illustrate it. The result is a beautiful series of paintings that will brighten the libraries and pay tribute to those who served our country. If you have a chance, stop by and check out the students' great work!
Halloween Parade Photos

This year's Halloween Parade and Fair was a wonderful gathering for the entire Foote community, and held special excitement coming on Halloween Day. The event also raised money that will be donated to Columbus House for programs that support homeless individuals and families in New Haven. Thanks to all the Foote students and families who helped make the celebration a big success!
