A Thank You From the PTC Co-Presidents

Thanks to all of the volunteers who contributed their time and energy to supporting the numerous PTC events throughout the year, and to the supportive faculty and administration!

Because of your contributions, the PTC will be making a record $85,000 disbursement to the school for the 2014-15 year. These funds will be used for many programs that directly benefit the students at Foote, including field trips, the read aloud program and a new Lower School playground.

We couldn't have done it without you!

Sincerely,
Jaime Cole and Christina Herrick
The Foote School PTC Co-Presidents

Greek Immersion Day

Fifth graders capped off their study of Ancient Greece with Greek Immersion Day, a celebration fit for the Olympians. Dressed in period costumes, students performed a series of Greek plays in the Sandine Theater and competed in chariot races on the lower athletic field, with two partners posing as horses and the other riding in a makeshift chariot (video below).

Watch video of the plays Sisyphus, The Golden Touch and Clash of the Titans, and find more photos on the blogs of Jake Burt and Jim Adams.

Seventh Grade Self-Portraits

Now on display in the main hallway: Self-portraits made by seventh graders. Working from photos and applying a grid method, seventh graders used pencil on paper to create these likenesses of themselves under the guidance of art teacher Karla Matheny. The results are stunning. If you haven't already, be sure to catch them before they're gone! Find more photos on our Facebook page.
