Thanks for a Wonderful Faculty Breakfast!

Dear Parents,

It was amazing to walk into the faculty room yesterday and see the bountiful breakfast tables set for our faculty and staff. The flowers were beautiful and the homemade treats supplied a much-appreciated breakfast (and lunch) for teachers during a very busy time of the year. We are fortunate to have an incredible parent body that participates in making Foote a warm and welcoming community. Thank you for a memorable Faculty Appreciation Breakfast, and for all that you do.

Warmly,

New Strategic Vision Brochure

The Foote community recently completed a Strategic Thinking process and has published a new brochure that outlines our strategic goals and priorities for the next several years. We are very excited about this shared vision for our school and grateful to the many parents, faculty, staff, board members and alums who contributed
thoughtfully to the process.

Brochures will be going home by mail in the coming weeks, but you can pick up a copy now at the front desk. Many thanks to Foote parent Angie Hurlbut for her wonderful design of the brochure!
Important Forms Were Sent Home

An envelope from Foote containing numerous important forms was mailed to families last week. Extra forms are available on the Parents page of our website and at the front desk. Please complete and return the forms by the dates indicated. Thank you!

Reaching for the Top on Campus Ropes Course

Eighth graders returned to the campus ropes course in the Foote woods on Thursday. Wearing harnesses and helmets, students used teamwork to scale the "dangling duo" and balance and focus to cross the "multi-vine traverse." The ropes course is the culmination of the outdoor education unit in physical education and follows practice sessions in the gym and on a lower wire. Every student has an opportunity to try the ropes and test the skills they've learned.

Special Performances by Haven String Quartet

Foote was treated to two performances by the Haven String Quartet this week. On Wednesday, third graders heard the ensemble perform a range of music and talk about the work they do as part of Music Haven, providing free music education and chamber music performances to New Haven's most under-served neighborhoods. Later that evening, the quartet, which includes Foote parent Yaira Matyakubova on violin, performed in the Sandine Theater at the PTC/Foote School Association annual meeting.
