Outdoor Observation Drawing

Ages: 10 and up

Dates: July 22-July 26

Hours: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Fee: $350

 

In this exploration of nature, architecture, and art, Foote art teacher Jennifer Youngblood leads participants in exploring the sights - and sites - of summer! The class will travel to Edgerton Park, the Foote Community Garden, and other scenic New Haven sites to engage in open-air observational drawing.  

  

Bookbinding

Ages: 10-14

Dates: July 29-August 2

Hours: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Fee: $350

 

Foote art teacher Jennifer Youngblood will introduce marbling, splatter painting, and more to create artfully embellished papers and bind creations together with a choice of book-binding techniques! Participants may turn their pages into accordion-fold books, or use Coptic or saddle-stitch binding to create their very own books. 

 

Learn Soccer the Brazilian Way 

 

Ages: 5-14

Dates: July 8-12; July 15-19; July 28-August 2

Hours: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Fee: $275 per week

 

Join Everson Soccer Academy instructors to learn the Brazilian methodology, which encourages a skilled type of play. Players will learn techniques that allow them to be creative and innovative on the field. Boys and girls will be divided into age- and ability-appropriate groups for a safe and fun learning environment. After a morning of soccer, campers will take a break for lunch and enjoy an art project each afternoon.

Dear Parents, 
 
Please find the order form for the Field Day T-shirts below. You may also access the form by clicking on the link under Announcements on the front page of the Foote website at www.footeschool.org.

Please complete and print out the order form and drop it off at the Front Desk. We will be taking T-shirt orders through Mon., April 8. 

(In a break with the past, we will not be sending home a printed order form this year.)

In June, we will bid a grateful farewell to Ted Willis, our director of athletics for 43 years, and welcome physical education teacher and coach Brad McGuire as our new athletics director.

Jennifer Friedman
 
Librarian Karen Longa, who has helped develop an excellent technology program for the library and has guided many a child to just the right book, retires this year. Library associate Jennifer Friedman will move into the position of librarian.
  
 
 
LOWER SCHOOL NEWS AND INFORMATION
 
Grades 4 and 5 to Perform 
 
Grades 4 and 5 will be presenting their Spring Assembly performance, which was previously cancelled due to a snowstorm, at 8:15 a.m. Fri., April 19, in the Twichell Room.

PTC NEWS
 
"Hamlet" Tickets Available
 
The PTC has a few extra tickets available for "Hamlet," produced by the Yale Repertory Theatre and playing at the University Theatre, Sat., April 6. 
The University Theatre is located at 222 York St., New Haven.
