Please Welcome
Our New Director
of Admissions and Outreach
|
| |
I am pleased to announce that Rachelle Byron will be Foote's new director of Admissions and Outreach beginning July 1, 2013. Rachelle is already a member of the New Haven community, having lived in Westville for several years. "I love our lively, eclectic community and the rich urban and outdoor opportunities here," she says.
Currently the head of Lower School Admissions at Greens Farms Academy in Westport, Rachelle grew up attending independent schools.
She earned her bachelor's degree from Dickinson College and a master's degree at Lesley University in Cambridge, Mass. She worked as an associate teacher at Beauvoir - the National Cathedral Elementary School in Washington, D.C., and as an elementary teacher at the Quest Montessori School in Exeter, R.I.
Rachelle has also worked as development director for the Museum of Yachting in Newport, R.I., education coordinator for the Conservation Agency in Jamestown, R.I., and as an art teacher at the Island Arts Center in Newport.
Rachelle has strong experience in teaching and admissions, wonderful enthusiasm, and
proven ability to communicate effectively, listen deeply, and build relationships. She looks forward to becoming involved in the fabric of the school.
Please join me in welcoming Rachelle to the Foote community!
