As the dog days of Summer pass and we peer ahead to the cooler weather of Autumn, it is time to look ahead at the many happenings and events taking place at the High Point Theatre.  We are saddened by the loss of the NC Shakespeare Festival, and hope they are able to re-organize in the years to come and bring back quality theatrical productions to the Theatre.  In light of that, there are some really great things happening at your High Point Theatre!

Beginning September 8, each Monday-Wednesday-Friday, 11am - 2pm, food vendors will be available under Mendenhall Terminal.  Monday and Friday will be Top Dawg, a 100% all beef hot dog vendor with all the fixin's. Wednesday will feature Truckin' with Tipsy'z with an amazing variety of offerings from burgers to wraps to salads. Our hope is to add other vendors to fill all five business days. Call-in orders will be available, check the HPT website for additional info.

On September 20th we have a fun locally-produced show featuring two amazing young talents. Erik Dobell and Chris Collins bring their Impossibilities Show to HPT. Erik is a well-known Mentalist and Chris an accomplished Magician.  Together their talents will make you ask..."how'd he do that!?"

October kicks off the 39th Professional Artist Series campaign.  Be sure to get your passport so you can get all of the signatures from the amazing artists. There will be a couple of special announcements this year also, some shows that don't appear in the Passport, but that you will not want to miss! Be sure to take advantage of your City of High Point discount if you live within the 27260-27265 zip codes.

Thank you for choosing the High Point Theatre for your entertainment, we know there are many options out there, and we are humbled that you allow us to provide some your entertainment needs. David Briggs

Respectfully,

Impossibilities
Magical Comedian Chris Collins and Mentalist Erik Dobell have spent a combined 40+ years travelling from South Dakota to South Korea entertaining NFL football players and celebrities at private & public events. For their new project, they wondered what would happen if a Magician and a Mind Reader worked together as a duo? The result is the show Impossibilities: An Evening of Magic, Mind Reading and Mayhem which will be playing at The High Point Theatre in High Point, NC - 8pm show time on Saturday, September 20, 2014, a one night only special event.

PPL Logo Reunited to treat fans to music that sounds as good today as it did when they first performed it, the iconic band Pure Prairie League hits the stage on Thursday, October 30. "Amie," "Two Lane Highway," "Kansas City Southern," and "Let Me Love You Tonight" are a cross section of the hits the audience can expect, proving good music is good music no matter when it's made or played.
 Jeanne Robertson
The month of November rolls around with humorist Jeanne Robertson on Saturday, November 1, for a rollicking good time as she lets us know why it's a bad idea to send a man to the grocery store, go rafting without a Baptist in the boat or bungee-jump naked.

Ang LiCaptivating. Powerful. Passionate. Internationally acclaimed classical piano virtuoso and official Steinway artist Ang Li is set to perform "China to Chopin with Love" on Tuesday, November 11.

Dave MasonThe first half of the season closes with Dave Mason's Traffic Jam Tour on Saturday, November 15. Although not many in their 60's perform with the same vitality that defined their early days, Rock & Rock Hall of Fame inductee, living legend, and founding member of one of the most influential rock bands of all time, Dave Mason, is that rare exception.

Food Truck Vendors Coming to Downtown High Point

Beginning Monday, September 8, 11 am to 2 pm, downtown High Point will debut a new program offering residents a variety of mouth-watering burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, and accompaniments from one of their favorite local food cart and truck vendors. Plans are to have a different vendor each Monday, Wednesday and Friday, on an ongoing basis. The Mendenhall Terminal will be the site of this renewed effort to reconnect the community to the heart of their city while supporting local businesses.

On Mondays and Fridays, leave the cold cuts at home and take advantage of the creative offerings of Top Dawg, offering a lip-smacking celebration of North America's tastiest, messiest and most irresistible street food. And, on Wednesdays, Trucking with Tipsy'z will be on site offering their flavorful fare of specialty burgers - Stuffed Gouda, Pimento Cheese, Bacon Cheddar and Black Bean - and a delicious variety of sandwiches including Ahi Tuna, Philly Cheese Steak, BBQ Chicken, Turkey, and Herb-Crusted Roast Beef.
