Campus-wide Calendar Solutions

This was a big year in higher ed for Trumba. Several large universities selected Trumba as their campus-wide calendaring solution.
University of Utah and University of Washington are a few of many large institutions sharing calendars across all of their campus locations to keep students, faculty, staff and community members informed and engaged in their school.

The University of Washington sponsored Trumba as a partner member of the InCommon Federation, making it even easier for other member institutions to leverage our Single Sign-On feature
We recently added support for
Higher One/CASHNet, a payment processing service used by many higher education institutions. Learn about setting up CASHNet.

Campus Tours

Many universities are increasing their reach to prospective students with Trumba campus tour calendars.

Trumba's customizable registration feature makes it easy for site visitors
to sign up online for campus tours.

St. John's College recently implemented
tour calendars for both their
SantaFe and Annapolis campus locations.

Prospective students can select from a variety of customized visit types, register online, add them to their personal calendars and forward to friends and family.

More Mobile Responsive

Design FeaturesMobile

We know how important it is for calendars to function well on mobile devices, especially for our higher ed customers and their constituents.

We continue to add many new features to make Trumba calendars on mobile even better.

Mobile Calendar View: We've added a mobile table view that is pre-configured to display well on smaller mobile screens. You can use the normal table view for your full site and the mobile table view for your mobile site, all from the same publication. The new Mobile Event Detail view is also configured to ensure optimal display on mobile devices.

Mobile Event Actions:  Our Event Action feature provides actions such as Add to my Calendar, Reminders, Forward to Friends, Event Registration and more. We have updated the Event Action displays to use mobile responsive design so that the display is automatically optimized for mobile devices.

Detect Current Location: The location search spud supports automatically detecting the visitor's location when searching for nearby events. This feature is enabled on mobile devices but can also be enabled for desktop computers. See the Location Search spuds help topic for more information.

Also, our hosted calendar views on trumba.com now support mobile responsive design to automatically collapse the left controls, leaving more room for the calendar content while still providing a way to quickly access the controls through a link.

The hosted view is a great tool for testing your published calendar before embedding it in your website and now supports testing of mobile views as well, so you can easily make sure that your calendars looks great on screens of any size.

For more details on Trumba mobile support, see the Optimize your calendar for mobile help topic.

More Ways to Design
Custom CalendarsCustomize

We have added several features that help you customize spuds so you can design your calendars to match your website and style preferences.

Here are just a few...

Tabbed View Chooser

The view chooser is a control spud your site visitors to display events in different ways by switching between calendar views. The tabbed view chooser displays available calendar views as a set of tabs. This spud can be included above your main calendar spud to provide an easy way to switch between views and further customize your calendar design.

Custom Date Icons

You can add a custom date icon to promotion spuds to show the event start date as a recognizable calendar icon. These date icons can replace event start dates or appear along with them. When designing date icons you can start from a default design and customize background and border colors, fonts and more, or you can upload your own date icon image and customize the month, date and day of week text.

Rounded Corners

You can also customize event and object details popups and many control and promotion spuds by rounding border corners.

You can set the width and color of the border, providing another way to stylize elements of your calendar according to your design preferences.
For details about setting up rounded corners see the Help topic.

For more ideas about how to customize other spuds in a variety of ways
see the Help topic.

Promote your events
with Disqus commentsDisqus

We recently added support for embedding the Disqus.com comment service at the bottom of event and object detail views. You can make your events more interesting and shareable by letting visitors comment on them with Disqus or the Facebook comments plugin.
