University of Washington leverages powerful calendar sharing features
The University of Washington recently launched their new university-wide events calendars, which includes over 200 calendars across all three UW campus locations. The UW Seattle, Bothell and Tacoma campus sites each publish calendars for their campus, and share these calendars with departments that want their events to show on different campus calendars.
Each department across the UW also has their own calendar they publish to their department's website. UW created a standard event template that the majority of departments use. The "Copy publish and spuds settings from" setting allows UW department to easily maintain a consistent look and feel for all published calendars. Departments can also customize their calendars according to their own preferences if desired. With the Also Shows On calendar sharing feature, departments add their events to other UW calendars by simply selecting from a list of other calendars when creating events.
UW nicely customized their design to fit their brand and style preferences. A Date Finder control spud with custom colors, fonts and forward/back arrows enhances their site's integrated design, matching the style of other elements on the site.
The UW also uses our new tabbed view chooser to match their site's design, providing site visitors the ability to easily select their preferred way of displaying the calendars.

New Event Registration Features
| |
We have added several enhancements to our event registration feature, givng you even more flexibility to control how you set up and your events.
Multiple pricing options
If you organize paid events you may need to offer different pricing levels. You can create events with multiple pricing for different types of attendees such as member/non-member and adult/child/senior pricing. When setting up the paid event simply select Add Pricing Options to add the price label and price per attendee. You can also use the pricing options to add a description to a single pricing option.

Auto Invite from Wait List
Managing your wait list for full events is easy with Auto Invite from Wait List. If you want to get your events filled on a first come, first served basis, enabling the Auto Invite option makes it a snap. Whenever a space in your event comes available the system will automatically invite people from the wait list in the order they signed up. If you prefer to invite people using other criteria, you can manually invite them from the wait list.
For more information about Auto Invite from Wait List see the Help topic.
Enhanced attendee management
We provide several other tools for managing your event registration attendee list. For example, you can filter your list by attendee status, such as Wait List only and others. You can also send a custom email to a specific list of attendees.
You can perform bulk actions on multiple attendees at once, export registration information and take many other actions that help you manage events. For more details see the Help topic.
Event Registration start times
In addition to specifying a response deadline for your event registrations, you can now also specify a date and time for when visitors may begin the registration process. This feature allows event organizers to specify a registration start date/time for any event, including individual events and those for which the site visitor is expected to sign up for all events in a recurring series.
Custom registration buttons
You can add more customization to your event registration forms by uploading your own images for the Sign Up, Wait List and Event if Full event registration buttons that show on calendar views. Sign Up buttons have also been added to the Detailed List, Labeled List, Photo Events and List by Month calendar views. You control which buttons, if any, display in your calendar, and you can replace the default buttons with images you create. Because you customize buttons on a calendar-view-by-calendar-view basis, each view can use its own set of buttons if you like.
For details about setting up custom registration buttons see the Help topic.

Promote your events on your Facebook business page
| |
You can use Facebook to increase awareness of your events by importing your Trumba events to your Facebook business page. You do this using the RSS or Atom (XML) feed, which is generated when you publish your calendar, and a third party application, such as RSS Graffiti, dlvr.it, and Twitterfeed, to automatically post events to your Facebook business page.
You have control over the date range and number of events that calendar feeds include. When your events appear in Facebook they will link to your Trumba calendar so visitors to your Facebook page will have all the event details and be able to easily add events to their calendar, register and take any other event actions you have set up.
For more information see our Help topic on customizing calendar feeds. |
