Thanks to the City of Inglewood for starting off our Summer in the City series in June!

Summer in the City is a new series introducing APA LA's members to the latest innovative, proactive planning in cities around the Los Angeles region. Between June and September, we'll visit several cities whose staff will lead tours, site visits, and presentations that showcase their planning and community development efforts. On July 26, the second in the series will take us to Duarte, the "City of Health." From the award-winning Duarte Station Specific Plan around its new Gold Line station to a master plan for the City of Hope's cutting-edge cancer research and treatment campus, come see what's going on in this San Gabriel Valley city! Light breakfast and lunch will be included in this tour.

Summer in the City is a new series introducing APA LA's members to the latest innovative, proactive planning in cities around the Los Angeles region. Between June and September, we'll visit several cities whose staff will lead tours, site visits, and presentations that showcase their planning and community development efforts.
On August 21, the third in the series will take us to Santa Monica. We'll explore downtown Santa Monica's return to a transit terminus and the projects transforming the area into a multi-modal hub. We will then stroll to award-winning Tongva Park and continue conversation at an ocean view bar for drinks and snacks, ending the evening on Santa Monica Pier for a Twilight Concert with The Zombies.
