Welcome to the September 2014 Cutting Edge from ASI Technologies, Inc. This month we are highlighting our heavy duty gear drives.

Heavy Duty Wheel Drives

The 9210 Large Size Drive System is a two-pass helical gear drive system. It can support up to 3000 lbs, including the rider (if applicable) and any added weight that the vehicle could be carrying. The maximum static load is 3500 lbs. The maximum intermittent output torque with a 150 amp-limited motor current is 2170 in-lbs. The maximum continous output torque with a 40-amp limited motor current is 561 in-lbs. All gears are rated per ANSI/AGMA 2001-D04 with standard service factors to exceed these ratings.

The features of this drive include:

  • Ratio: 31.0 to 1
  • Motor: 1 HP, continuous PM, DC, 4.8 inch diameter
  • Brake: 12 NM

Benefits: The HD Wheel Drive is designed for heavy duty applications such as scissor lifts, utility carts, golf carts and steerable vehicles/equipment where precision traction and durability are design features desired by the OEM. In addition, multiple options for motor size and speed provide ideal performance for applications requiring a competitive advantage.

All ASI gear drives are available to be modified to meet exact OEM specifications. Rapid prototyping, short run tooling and design/manufacturing flexibility allow ASI to provide samples and production delivery in compacted lead-times.

Key design characteristics are:

  • No need for maintenance (except for the motor brushes).
  • Drive system is completely sealed with o-rings and spring lip seals to minimize leaks, also allowing for the use of the product in outdoor applications.
  • Drive system is quiet, precise close tolerance parts and helical gearing.
  • Rugged design.
  • Axles are high-strength hardened carbon steel.
  • Tapered roller bearings on axle.

Is there anything else we can do for you?

Sincerely,
