BBDF CHOSEN AS AUSTIN MARATHON CHARITY
Start Training to Run with BBDF on February 14

BBDF has been chosen as one of Austin Marathon's charities. We are excited to keep the momentum from Run to the Sun and keep running for Batten disease. For the bold, sign up for the full marathon. For the brave, join us for the half marathon and for the equally athletic run the Paramount 5K

When asked during registration "would you like to fundraise on behalf of one of the Austin Gives Miles charities?" choose Beyond Batten Disease Foundation.

Register today for the Full/Half Marathon or the 5K.
BBDF PARTNERS WITH EVOTEC
Collaboration Focuses on Advancing Treatment Options for Juvenile Batten

BBDF funded Evotec, a specialized contract research organization, to evaluate the six potential drug compounds discovered at Texas Children's Hospital and they have identified two lead candidates to advance to validation studies. We have begun funding a two-year plan to validate these compounds, and if successful, advance an application to FDA for approval to begin clinical trials.
DEVELOPMENT BOARD WELCOMES NEW MEMBERS
Board Includes 127 Active Volunteers

President Ashley Crider and Past President Kelley Daniel

In its third year, BBDF's Development Board is stronger than ever. With over 125 members, the Development Board kicked off the year with Family Night, a new member coffee at the Benson's home, and new ideas for spreading Batten disease awareness. This year, the board is led by Ashley Crider. A big thank you to Kelley Daniel, who served as president 2014-2015. We can't wait to share all the things the board has planned in the upcoming year!

FAMILY NIGHT AT SCHLITTERBAHN A SUCCESS
Community Comes Together Splashin' for a Passion

In September, over 450 supporters attended Family Night at Schlitterbahn Waterpark in New Braunfels. With the park exclusively open for BBDF, families enjoyed a "fast pass" experience with smiles and laughter, including unlimited icees and dippin' dots. Kids and adults alike enjoyed this special experience,
benefiting a cause near to their hearts. From the squeal-inducing Skycoaster to the crowd favorite Master Blaster water slide, the inaugural event was a huge success. Thank you Chair Lisa Magids and the Family Night Committee for all your hard work making the event unforgettable!
