OASIS FOR ORPHANS NEWSLETTER

February 2014

 DON'T MISS IT...

(Please note time change for TEAM Oasis meetings -
team leaders meeting 3:30 - 4:30 pm, runners interest meeting 4:30 - 5:30 pm.)

Dear Oasis family,

Balloons, music, streamers, games, cake, well-wishers... These things come to mind when we think about the celebration of a milestone.  We reflect upon the past, celebrate the present, and look to the future.  This year, as Oasis for Orphans rejoices over 10 years of rescuing and developing orphaned children, we are celebrating the past, present, and future of our ministry.

Last year's event was all about the EPIC stories God has written.  Oasis supporter, Debbie Steinberg, recalls, " It is so great to see all the people who support Oasis in one common place. The yearly event creates a sense of community and keeps the organization more personable. It has grown so incredibly over the years, so reviewing the accomplishments and growth during the last year in person (versus email) makes The Hill feel closer."

This year's event, Celebration, will allow us to reminisce with more memories, including some recent ones.  A lot has been happening because of your love and stewardship, and we can't wait to share it with you!  Please invite friends, family, co-workers- anyone you think may be moved by the work God is doing in Kenya, to our family-friendly evening.  As Dawn Haecker stated, "I was excited for more people to hear about the work and vision of Oasis, for more people to have the opportunity to get involved."  That kind of excitement from you, the heart of this ministry, is the contagious love that keeps our efforts growing.

Speaking of growing, we will also spend a lot of time looking to the future.  Oasis' Child Health Coordinator and recent missionary to The Hill, Scott Derse, is "...looking forward to highlighting the growth and expansion of the new Oasis sites." After you've explored the Massai Market, reminisced about the last 10 years, and heard many inspiring new stories of hope, Tom Andersen and the Oasis staff will lay out our exciting plans for rescuing more children with future Oasis sites!

We have so much to Celebrate!  See you March 2!
