The New Jersey Marathon Festival, along with Barnabas Health and volunteering organizations, have created a special day full of fun family events for all ages and abilities.
In addition to several races, there will also be: clowns, face painting, music, carnival games, crafts, refreshments, awards, medals, and commemorative T-Shirts. It is a great festival for the entire family!
The fun starts at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 4 and goes until noon, on the Great Lawn at the Ocean Promenade, in Long Branch. (Just a few yards north of Pier Village - between the Ocean Place Resort & Spa and Rooney's Crab House.)

May Community Health Education Programs
HEART SAVER AED CPR PROGRAM Saturday, May 4 from 9 to 1 p.m. Babysitters, parents and grandparents are encouraged to attend this course that provides automated external defibrillator (AED) training to laypersons and also teaches how to recognize a medical emergency, adult, infant and child CPR, first aid for choking victims and the use of barrier devices to reduce the risk of infection. This class will take place at Monmouth Medical Center, located at 300 Second Avenue in Long Branch; Registration is required by calling 732-923-6990. $40 per person.
SPORTS 'FUN'DAMENTALS Saturday, May 4 from 11 a.m. to Noon Parents and children will have fun learning the basic skills and rules of various sports including soccer, wiffleball, kickball, pillo polo and more in a non competitive environment. Stop by Monmouth Medical Center's Safe Kids Youth Sports Safety information table for information on preventing concussions, dehydration, the importance of pre-participation physical exams and wearing the proper protective equipment for each sport. This program will be held at Dorbrook Recreation Area, located at 209 County Route 527 East in Colts Neck. For fee and registration information call 732-842-4000, Ext. 1.
