Dear Friends,

This Sunday I will be preaching the second part of a sermon on prayer. Last week the sermon was based on the text, "Lord, teach us to pray." This week the focus will be on WHAT to pray. Granted, this is a huge topic and so I will mostly be talking about intercessory prayer and prayers of petition.

With the state of the world today and with the turmoil, fear and violence that is so prevalent in our own country right now, it is paramount that we pray for others and we pray for ourselves if there is ever going to be any meaningful change.

A passage of scripture that has been meaningful to me in my prayer life is Philippians 4:6-7. I share it here with you in the hopes that it will speak to you as well.

"Don't worry over anything, whatever; whenever you pray tell God every detail of your needs in thankful prayers, and the peace of God, which surpasses human understanding, will keep constant guard over your hearts and minds as they rest in Christ Jesus." (Phillips Bible translation)

Come, let us pray together this Sunday.

Peace and Blessings,

Pastor Linda
