Dear Friends,

party_hat_celebrate.jpg Who doesn't love a good party? Who doesn't like to celebrate and rejoice? Well, I guess the Grinch didn't....until he had a change of heart, until the true spirit of Christmas invaded his heart. Then he too loved to celebrate.

We have been doing lots of celebrating at PPPC recently. On May 22nd we celebrated with the Choral Bells as they played for the last time until the Fall. What those men and women can do with handbells and chimes never ceases to amaze me. Their music is so beautiful, joyous and even prayerful. We recognized them in worship that day and gave thanks for what their music brings to our worship experience.

That same afternoon we celebrated again with the ordination of a child of our church, Rebecca Marie Crate. She was surrounded by family and friends, some all the way from Scotland! We participated in the laying on of hands signifying the conferring of the Holy Spirit on her, setting her aside for the task of minister of word and sacrament to which God has called her. Truly, the whole service and the reception afterward was a occasion of celebration.

This Sunday we will be recognizing and celebrating our Dove Choir under the marvelous direction of Becky Muraglia.  The voices of these children bring such joy, such energy, such a sense of celebration to our worship experience we all want to shout out, "Praise God." So why don't we this Sunday? Why don't we shout out "praise God" - for their singing is to praise God and our worship is to praise God as well.

Come celebrate with us this Sunday. Let us as a family of faith, praise God together. Peace and Blessings,

Pastor Linda

This Sunday, and every Communion Sunday, there are Deacon envelopes in the pews for you to make a donation to their fund. The Deacons carefully review each request for financial assistance and give assistance to those who need it the most. Know that your donation is truly helping someone who has a direct need.

PW Cookbook Project Update

The vision of "Shore Delights of Jersey" has become a reality due to the many women and men of the congregation who submitted their favorite recipes, typed, proofread, offered their creative suggestions and gave of their talents.  Merchants and business sponsors thank you for your support.  Please support the sale of the book by spreading the word to your friends.  The proceeds of "Shore Delights of Jersey" will help with the staffing of our own nursery and missions of the Presbyterian Women.
SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday School News

Hello everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend!

Last week, we took a break from the movie we have been watching to talk about Moses and the burning bush. What an incredible story! We talked a lot about what it could have been like to witness such a magnificent occurrence. When we talked about what we would do if a burning bush started talking to us, the general consensus was that we would probably get scared and run away.

Moses showed great courage to stand and talk with God. We also agreed we probably couldn't lead everyone to freedom as Moses was tasked to do either. For our craft, we made our own burning bush scenes to remind us of what Moses saw. After we were done with the lesson, we had a few minutes left over, so we finished out the rest of Sunday School with some playtime outside, soaking up some sunshine and running around with our friends.

This week, we will be watching the second half of The Prince of Egypt. There is the Congregational Meeting occurring after church, so Sunday School will be extended to accommodate parents who would like to stay for the meeting but need childcare.

Peace and Blessings,
Tricia Stoffers
POINT BEACH PREP

This Week at Point Beach Prep

We have a Student of the Week program here at school.  Each student has the opportunity during this week to have a family member come in to the classroom to share something special with the class.  Each week we experience many fun activities with the family, including reading books, making projects, singing and dancing, and much more.  Lyla was our recent Student of the Week and she brought in her Daddy, who is a lobsterman.  He brought in his big trap to show us, which we discovered was very heavy.  He even brought in a real lobster for us to touch and observe!   We learned a lot about lobsters, including that they can be blue and grow to be much larger than any of us had expected.  It was a great hands-on learning activity.  We are thankful for all of the unique experiences that each family brings to our classroom!
