Dear Friends, CHRIST IS ALIVE! The spirit of the risen Christ certainly was present on Easter Sunday during our worship services and our Sunday school. There was so much energy in the music (thank you Bill, Sara and choir), the liturgy and the fellowship. Oh, I must not forget the beautiful flowers that graced the sanctuary. All present seemed glad to be in church worshiping as the Body of Christ. After Sunday school, the children had fun hunting for Easter eggs in the church yard and we adults had just as much fun watching them. It truly was a day of resurrection, of new life. CHRIST IS ALIVE! On Tuesday night I was among the worshipers who came to celebrate the resurrection again and to give thanks for the life of faithful member Donald Williams. I must say, that the service was one of the most uplifting memorial services I have ever attended. Again, the music was wonderful and contributed to the beauty of the service. Our choir sang; there was an outstanding young harpist who played an "electric" harp which really gave a sense of joy to the service; a grandson of Don and Lorraine's sang a piece which he had written to a familiar tune that was achingly touching. This service was truly a tribute to a man whose life was deeply rooted in faith and family. The Spirit flowed all around.
CHRIST IS ALIVE! Come join us again this Sunday as we rejoice in being resurrection people. Come experience the Spirit which gives us the gift of new life. Come to worship, come to the communion table and know the peace that only Christ can give. Blessings,

PPPC's "ROCK OF LIFE" Alternative Worship Service Series Commencing Saturday, April 9, 2016
Psalm 18:2: "The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn my salvation, my stronghold."
Series One: "KEYS FOR LIVING A RESURRECTED LIFE"
(Seven Weeks Duration)
Week One (April 9, 2016): "Grace Without Boundaries" (John 20:19-30)
At Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church, we understand that we are all uniquely formed by God, and that each of us desires intimacy with God that is further enhanced through alternative worship styles, bringing together diversified individuals, while also upholding all of our Presbyterian (USA) traditional values and beliefs.
We have listened to our congregation's desire for exploring this understanding further, and we believe, in hearing God's voice, to further explore an alternative worship service at PPPC. What better time to start "a new thing" than following our Easter celebration and witnessing the resurrected Christ?
Come join us for the commencement of an "alternative worship service" series lasting seven weeks, as we assemble for worship with contemporary music, active participation from our youth, and a collection of seven messages for daily applications entitled "Keys For Living a Resurrected Life." Our first service of the series will be entitled "Grace Without Boundaries." Fearing life without the physical living Jesus, the church's earliest disciples chose to remain behind locked doors. However, Jesus Christ presented himself unexpectedly to teach a new way of thinking: grace without boundaries...
Our first alternative worship service series will commence on April 9, 2016, a Saturday, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Sanctuary. The service will be led by Anthony Maimone, a recent graduate of New Brunswick Theological Seminary, who was also a student of Pastor Carl, and who recently met all of his written examination requirements for the Presbyterian (USA) Church, and will be coming before the Monmouth Presbytery this Spring to move forward with his final requirements to able to accept a call for ordination. Anthony has also been one of the Youth Connection leaders under Courtney's leadership this past year. PPPC's Youth Connection teens and advisers will also be participating in and leading the service.
We ask that you prayerfully contemplate your participation in this alternative worship service series as the Holy Spirit may lead you. You may also want to extend an invitation to your friends and neighbors who are seeking to draw closer to God in worship.
"Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth!" (Isaiah 43:19; NKJV).
For further information, you can also contact Anthony directly at [email protected] or 732-722-8006. Peace and Blessings.

Sunday School News
Hello everyone!
What a week, last week! I hope you all had as much fun as I did. The kids all looked so beautiful and so handsome in their Easter best! We had a nice discussion during our Sunday School period about the joy of finding that He has risen, and how it must have felt to be alive at that time - to go from such sadness to such joy. After our discussion, we enjoyed some Easter treats and then waited for the parents to come so we could start the egg hunt. They seemed to have a great time during the egg hunts - the eggs were filled with a little bit of scripture and a little something sweet. It was such a wonderful morning! This week, we are moving on to study the passage of the Beatitudes. When we focus specifically on the passage of the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-10) we can see that Jesus brings his radical reinterpretation to this passage as well. When we think about who is "blessed" and why, we may be surprised by the statements of Jesus. Given the trends we see in human nature, we might expect the rich and powerful to be the ones who are blessed, but Jesus turns our expectations upside down... Blessed are the poor, the powerless, the sad, the down-trodden, the people who work for peace. I'm excited to introduce the kids to this body of work because it recounts Jesus speaking directly to a crowd. Learning about the Lord is always a wonderful thing, but learning from words directly spoken by Him just brings something extra to the lesson. I hope you will all be able to join us this weekend! See you on Sunday.
Peace and Blessings
